ICRW is the world’s leading authority on gender-focused research and strategies in global development. It provides solid evidence to inform policies, optimize programs, and identify scalable solutions that help women and girls lead safer, healthier and empowered lives. ICRW, like many global organizations headquartered in the US, recognized the need to build its footprint in Europe to broaden and diversify its partnerships. It also recognized the need to rebrand globally and revise its value proposition to engage stakeholders across sectors in all the countries where it operates.
In 2013, ICRW commissioned us to conduct a landscape analysis and develop a strategic plan to advance their goals in the UK and Europe. We led the development of plans for the UK, France and Switzerland, followed by a detailed tactical plan for the UK, which we continue to help implement and advance.
We subsequently collaborated with ICRW to develop a communications plan, articulate their value proposition and create core messages to reflect ICRW’s ongoing work and vision.
As a result of our collaboration in the UK, ICRW has advanced its programmatic work and increased its influence and resource mobilization among a range of corporate, government, foundation, NGO and individual stakeholders. Recent successes include partnerships with members of the House of Lords on child marriage, with the US Embassy in London on International Women’s Day and with European headquarters for companies like Mars Inc. Additionally, we have been successful in increasing ICRW’s visibility among think tanks like Chatham House and foundations like Thomson Reuters and in orchestrating several London events, including a gala honoring former British Foreign Secretary William Hague, chaired by HRH Crown Princess Mary of Denmark and supported by corporate and individual donors alike. GCN has also represented ICRW at the Thomson Reuters Foundation Trust Conference where we presented a pitch and secured high-level introductions to help scale their Gender Equality Movement in schools program.
ICRW has used the messaging we helped develop throughout its website and other key materials to communicate with governments, companies, NGOs, foundations and individual donors.
